Aberie Nwafor, a Nigerian man who allegedly pretended to be a doctor at a Limpopo hospital, was expected to apply for bail in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Nwafor was arrested on Friday at a mall in Polokwane, along with his wife Amara and his apparently fake lawyer Farida Mall after they allegedly tried to bribe Home Affairs officials and undercover police with R50,000.
The alleged bribe was for his 14 passports to be released.
Investigators said Nwafor's passports, which were believed to be fake, were confiscated in August by the police.
Nwakor, who apparently arrived in South Africa 15 years ago, allegedly had fake qualifications and a fake medical practice number.
During a brief appearance on Monday, ANC Women's League members protested outside the court against fake doctors and abuse of women and children.
On Monday, Limpopo Health MEC Phophi Ramathuba promised to tighten loopholes in the department's recruitment process to eliminate fake doctors in the system.
She said her department would ensure that vetting is done properly.
