Hundreds of Wits students march through campus, disrupt classes Video: eNCA
JOHANNESBURG - Wits University students marched through its main campus, disrupting classes which resumed on Tuesday.
eNCA's Malungelo Booi said police had been outnumbered by protesting students after spokesperson Shirona Patel said that they had authorised the deployment of a full security detail to secure those that had returned to classes.
Former SRC leader Mcebo Dlamini addressed the crowd urging students not to back down from their cause.
EFF leader Dali Mpofu also spoke to the protesting students, saying he supports their call for free education.

"Free education is possible if governemnt stops corruption," Mpofu proclaimed.
Singer and activist Simphiwe Dana said she would like the movement to achieve free education.
